Businesses investing in digital transformation initiatives are old news. However, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, much of those initiatives shifted as enterprises reallocated budget dollars and resources to different digital transformation projects.

In 2020, TechRepublic Premium conducted a survey to find out just how tech leaders reimagined business in the digital age, and COVID-19’s impact on those future objectives.

According to the survey results, COVID-19 forced 60% of respondents to alter their digital transformation plans. For example, since COVID-19 began, 65% said they used technology to enable communications and collaboration between remote employees, while 56% cited an increased focus on digital tools to facilitate digital training. Further, close to half (47%) of survey respondents planned to spend more on digital transformation in 2021 than in 2020.

One year later, COVID-19 remains. How the pandemic will impact company budgets and projects for digital transformation remains to be seen.
