Swift Networks Limited, a leading internet service provider (ISP) in Nigeria, has announced a price increase in its internet service tariffs.
In a statement released by Mr Chuma Okoye, Chief Operating Officer, Swift Networks, the price increase will take effect from Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
The statement indicated that the company has maintained its prices for the past eight years and has made efforts to keep them as low as possible through productivity gains. However, due to the continued weakness of the local currency and the unavailability of foreign exchange, which impact the cost of network equipment and spare parts, the company has been forced to make this adjustment, according to the ISP’s COO.
Swift Networks new data plan tariffs
“I am constrained to notify you, that we will be increasing the prices for our services with effect from Wednesday, March 1, 2023. While we are certain that this increase may be difficult for a lot of our customers to assimilate, I want to assure you that this has become inevitable for us to continue to provide the innovative and high-quality services that you have come to expect from us,” according to email sent to Swift Networks customers on Tuesday that was seen by Technology Times.
“We have kept our prices the same for the past 8 years and have worked hard to keep them as low as possible through productivity gains, Okoye says, explaining that “the continued weakness of our local currency and unavailability of foreign exchange, which impact the cost of our network equipment and spare parts, have compelled us make this adjustment.”
The revised prices of Swift’s LTE service plans were also outlined in the statement. While the price increase may be difficult for some customers to accept, Okoye assured them that it has become inevitable to continue providing innovative and high-quality services.
The Swift Liberty plan, which offers 2GB of data, will now cost N1,150, up from N1,025, while the Swift Liberty Plus plan, which offers 2.5GB of data, will now cost N1,400, up from N1,230, among others.
The statement also revealed that the company will appreciate its customers’ continued business, understanding, and loyalty, and urged them to note the slight increase in their next service bill.
Swift is one of the leading broadband internet service providers in Nigeria, offering internet services to homes and businesses across the country.
