Medallion Data Centres says it carries over 70% of internet traffic at the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) which allows service providers to keep local traffic within the country.

Engineer Ikechukwu Nnamani, Medallion Data Centres CEO who reveals this, says that the provider of carrier-neutral data centre services has become a leading force in the effort to retain local internet traffic in Nigeria.

IXPN was set up as a physical infrastructure that allows several Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and network operators to exchange traffic between their networks, generally referred to as autonomous systems, by means of mutual peering agreements, which allow traffic to be exchanged at no cost, according to the company.

Engineer Nnamani who this hint when announcing the appointment of an award-winning financial expert, Dr. Oluseyi Olanrewaju as the new Chief Financial Officer of Medallion Data Centres.

Prior to his appointment, Oluseyi was once the Executive Director Finance, Board member, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Vodacom Business Africa (Nigeria). He is currently a member of the Governing Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria

He has held various senior roles in multinational organisations like Mixta Africa, General Electric, MTN Nigeria, Dimension Data, PwC, Zenith Bank, Konga, among others. 

He is a seasoned Finance/IFRS/IPSAS expert and respected analyst on Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting matters, with practical experience spanning virtually all sectors of business endeavour and academics.
