The group, AI in Nigeria, which leads the charge in localising and scaling AI across Nigeria, will next month host a summit themed “InnovateAI Lagos 2024: Adapting AI For Nigeria: Crafting Intelligent Solutions For Our Unique Landscape.” 

The two-day event, scheduled to hold February 23 and 24, 2024 at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island Lagos, will feature a conference and hackathon grand finale respectively. Organisers have opened registration for AI Summit via https://aiinnigeria.com/aifeb2024/.

InnovateAI Lagos 2024, according to AI in Nigeria, is a gathering of over “1,000 professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, thought leaders, enterprise businesses, and regulators, all united by a passion for AI and its potential to revolutionise our society.” 

This event will present networking and collaboration opportunities that will contribute to shaping the future and growth of AI in Nigeria and beyond

Dotun Adeoye, a co-convener said that participants of the InnovateAI Lagos 2024 will gain insights from pioneers like Rodger Werkhoven, the Creative Director of OpenAI (ChatGPT), who was also pivotal to creating DALL-E and the creative elements of ChatGPT.

The event, Adeoye added, will enable participants to showcase their AI based products to consumers of AI technology; learn about the evolving landscape of AI in Nigeria, including its regulation, ethics, safety and the responsible deployment of AI technology.

The will also gain access to a pool of AI software developers who will develop sustainable AI based solutions to tackle sectoral challenges in education, agriculture, financial services, regulation and compliance, financial services and health; gain access to a unique platform to showcase their products and services, engage with key stakeholders and gain visibility in the AI sector.

According to Adeoye, “InnovateAI Lagos 2024 is more than just a conference. It is a catalyst to eliminate silos in the Nigerian AI ecosystem as well as imbibing best practices from local and global thought leaders.”

Ehia Erhaboh, another co-convener commented on the power of AI to solve Nigeria’s peculiar challenges by saying, “we aim to localise AI advancement for Nigeria, ensure this 4th industrial revolution and general purpose technology for local challenges.
