The Call for Papers for the fourth edition of IVS – Industrial Valve Summit 2021, the international summit dedicated to industrial valves and flow control solutions scheduled on 26th and 27th May 2021 at the Fiera di Bergamo, has started.
It will be possible to propose the memories for the conference sessions until 15th December 2020 and the best technical-scientific documents will be introduced by the authors during the conferences and workshops.
It is since its first edition, in 2015, that IVS has become a reference point in the scientific discussion in the field of industrial valves and related technologies, through the active participation of the most innovative players of the industry. In fact, the summit has always intertwined the global exhibition offer with an educational and informative soul that gives life to a rich calendar of conferences where current issues and trends are discussed and strategic developments of the entire supply chain are examined.
Also for the fourth edition of the fair, the cycle of conferences will be managed by the ValveCampus, the “think tank” of the Italian valve industry that, since its foundation, represents the technical-scientific reference partner of IVS. The work will be carried out in synergy with Confindustria Bergamo and Ente Fiera Promoberg.
IVS and ValveCampus have jointly developed a way to extend the life of the conference’s contents and to relaunch the concept of permanent training and innovation: the abstracts will become part of an online platform of shared knowledge, to which all IVS visitors and professionals in the sector will have free and continuous access.
«Lean and Digitise, new challenges for the valve sector» is the theme that will guide the IVS 2021 technical-scientific conference sessions, with a focus on five topics. The first is centered on developments and perspectives in safe valve design, materials, manufacturing, coatings, and corrosion protection technologies. Then we will talk about valve actuation and control technologies with regards to the implementation with smart technologies and the reduction of fugitive emissions related to the optimization of valve sealing technologies. The theme of innovation, combined with emerging technologies and future scenarios, will have particular importance. Lastly, it will be explored by international standards, supplies specifications, lean documentation management, and remote inspection technologies.
The topics are in continuity with the themes developed in the conference sessions of the 2019 edition of IVS, which were an opportunity to study the design and the production opportunities offered to the valves by 3D printing, in addition to the real-time simulation technologies of the production processes and fluid dynamics of mechanical components.
For the 2021 edition, the organizers of IVS will create an additional pavilion by bringing the exhibition area from 13 thousand to 18 thousand square meters. A necessary development to accompany the strong growth of the fair, evidenced by the rise in the number of visitors, exhibitors, and traffic on communication channels. The third edition of the summit drew more than 250 companies and almost 11,000 visitors to Bergamo, numbers 36% higher than the 8,000 presences recorded in the 2017 edition and tripled compared to the 3,500 accesses recorded in 2015. Access to the fair’s website also quadrupled in the months preceding the exhibition, going up from 70,000 registered in 2017 to 300,000 last year.
