Wanner International, a Wanner Engineering company which manufactures the world-leading and uniquely designed range of Hydra-Cell® seal-less diaphragm pumps, revealed strong sales in its half year report, driven by an expansion of the product range, in the face of the harsh market realities. There was an increase of 60% for its Hydra-Cell metering solutions range, in particular the MT08 metering pump.
Having designed and manufactured pumps for more than 40 years, Wanner has customers in major industries around the world, including medtech, oil and gas, petrochemical, wastewater treatment, pharma and food and drink, including wineries.
The Hydra-Cell pump technology is very versatile and over the last 40 years it has created value for customers in a very broad range of applications.
The past year has seen an increase in demand for a number of pumps generated by the real value the Hydra-Cell Metering and Dosing technology provides the end user: its virtual pulse-less flow eliminates the need for pulsation dampeners and delivers very accurate flow.
The Hydra-Cell MT08 is a metering and dosing pump for low flow rates at high pressures. It features a triplex diaphragm design in one end for a virtually pulse-free, linear flow and it has a higher efficiency, superior valves for handling abrasives, liquids with suspended solids and viscous liquids. The pump also had lower acquisition and maintenance costs compared to traditional metering pumps.
Paul Davis, Wanner International’s Managing Director said: “We are very pleased to have seen growth in metering pump sales, considering the tough few months we have all experienced. It is great to know that the additional advantages of the Hydra-Cell® seal-less, Metering and Dosing technology over conventional pumps has made an impact to the industries and the markets in which we operate.
“The Wanner International team and its extensive sales partner channel have worked very hard, especially through the global crisis, to continue offering support to existing clients, whether that be via our online technical support or just having a real human being on the other end of the phone.”
The unique Hydra-Cell® range of seal-less pumps boasts a whole host of advantages meaning they outperform many conventional pumps, generating real economic returns. The Hydra-Cell® range are highly efficient, heavy duty pumps for reliable liquid transfer, metering and dosing, injection and spraying of a wide range of liquids and because of its seal-less design this can include corrosive, abrasive and non-lubricating liquids. The pumps also have the ability to run dry indefinitely, without damage.
Because of the seal-less design, the Hydra-Cell® range have no seals or packing to wear or replace and is also up to 50% more efficient, depending on technology and application, than conventional pumps, It also keeps maintenance costs down by being long lasting; some Wanner pumps have been reported to be in operation for 30+ years of service.
This reduces unplanned downtime and cost savings on maintenance, spare parts and labour costs which has been a significant factor in reassuring customers in critical process manufacturing.
Paul Davis continues, “We are very proud of our pump offering; we are proud of our people; especially those behind the scenes, the support team, the installation engineers; and we are proud that we continue investing strongly in R & D and how we have been able to expand across the globe by having specialist partners available to assist our clients across 70 different countries. We look forward to the continued upward trend in growth and how the Hydra-Cell® family continues to expand.”
