Motorola unveils new line of Moto Edge 50 smartphones

Motorola has added new devices to its popular Moto Edge lineup of smartphones to include the Moto Edge 50 Ultra, Moto Edge 50 Pro, and Moto Edge 50 Fusion.

According to Motorola, this new family focuses on a balance between design, camera capabilities, and user experience.

In terms of design and display, all three devices have a sleek and modern design with comfortable curves and a variety of premium materials, including real wood, vegan suede, and a special edition pearl polymer finish.

The Moto Edge 50 Ultra takes the lead in the camera department, featuring a 50MP main lens, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 100x Super Zoom, a 50MP ultrawide lens with macro vision, and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Each phone is also IP68 water-resistant, ensuring durability. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra features the largest display in the family, a 6.67-inch Super HD pOLED display with 13% more resolution than the previous generation. The Moto Edge 50 Pro and Fusion models use a 6.7-inch Full HD+ endless edge pOLED display.

A major highlight of the Moto 50 family is its industry-first Pantone Validated camera and display technology. Developed in collaboration with Pantone, this ensures users capture and view colors and skin tones with exceptional accuracy, ideal for content creators and photography enthusiasts. This new technology is available on the new Motorola Edge 50 ultra and Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

AI-Powered Camera System:

The Moto Edge 50 Ultra takes the lead in the camera department, featuring a 50MP main lens, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 100x Super Zoom, a 50MP ultrawide lens with macro vision, and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.

The Moto Edge 50 Pro offers a 50MP high-resolution camera system with similar functionalities, while the fusion model has a 50MP main camera with LYTIA sensor and OIS, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front camera. All devices benefit from Moto AI features such as Photo Enhancement Engine, Adaptive Stabilization, and Auto Focus Tracking for capturing stunning photos and videos.

Moto AI plays a central role in the moto 50 family, integrating seamlessly across features. The smartphone company revealed that in the coming weeks, users will be able to “access even more enhanced AI editing tools4, directly on their smartphones through Google Photos, including: Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and more.”

New Moto buds Family

Motorola also announced the new moto buds family, which includes the moto buds+ with Sound by Bose and moto buds. Both earbuds offer Hi-Res Audio and Dynamic Noise Cancellation for an immersive audio experience. The moto buds+ has additional features like Bose-developed Active Noise Cancellation and EQ tuning for exceptional sound quality. When paired with the Moto Edge 50 Pro and Ultra (which support Dolby Head Tracking), both earbuds deliver a more natural and lifelike audio experience.

The Moto Edge 50 family and Moto buds are rolling out to select markets globally throughout the coming weeks. Pricing will vary by region but starts at N484,384.32 (€399) for the Moto Edge 50 Fusion, N848,583.05 (€699) for the Moto Edge 50 Pro, and N1,212,959.90 (€999) for the moto edge 50 ultra. The moto buds+ start at €149 (N180,911.94) and the moto buds at €59 (N71,616.494).
