UNDP to support Digital Literacy in Nigeria

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), an early partner of the 3MTT initiative by Nigeria’s Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE), is willing to support the promotion of digital literacy in the country.

Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, Minister of FMCIDE, who met with the UNDP Nigeria team on Monday led by Elsie Attafuah, Resident Representative, to discuss the willingness to actively support a number of the Ministry’s initiatives.

The UNDP’s mandate is to end poverty, build democratic governance, rule of law and inclusive institutions.

Advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life is a drive to the support in promoting digital literacy, UNDP said.

Promoting digital literacy, developing critical infrastructure and promoting innovation in tertiary institutions as a means to raising productivity across our economic sectors, are areas that the UNDP is willing to support, the team said.

According to the Minister,, “UNDP is one of our early partners on the 3MTT programme and we’re grateful for their continued support.”
